Factory farmed meat has brought down the cost of food enormously, but at what cost? Industrial farming means accessibility of meat by reducing production costs but is it cutting unacceptable corners?
There are undoubtedly benefits of mass food production and we must be careful not to throw the baby out with the bathwater. However, it is clear that feeding animals a diet that their species is not adapted has serious affects on the quality of the meat so produced.

In this weeks Episode of “living outside the Matrix” Eugene Trufkin, author of the “Anti-factory farming shopping guide” Explains what happens when animals are fed an non species spefici diet. He goes into details about why and how this is bad news for the consumer of such meat.
It seems that industrial farming must change if it is to meet the demands of the new and savvy consumers that do not want their health compromised. Whether this happens or not remains to be seen. Meanwhile it is in your interest to source meat that is produced from pasture raised animals if it is health that you seek.
